The berbers take their inspirations from their life and surroundings. The symbols on this basket depict that life. Being in the mountains, it is only natural for them to be from what is around them, animals, insects, plants and flowers. It can also be of life and fertitility, festivals and celebrations.
This Moroccan basket was where the dough, which have been kneaded in a wooden trough, were being shaped into discs, ready for baking. Also used to transport them to and fro the public oven.
