▪︎ABOUT
The Baule are an Akan people and one of the largest tribe in Ivory Coast, Western Africa, who historically migrated from Ghana. They are traditionally farmers who live in the centre of Ivory Coast.

It was made with the ikat process where the warp thread was resisted first with ties in the desired pattern and then dyed before being woven in narrow strips. They were then joined to form a bigger piece.

There are coloured floats, incorporated during the weaving process.
