▪︎ABOUT
The Baule are an Akan people and one of the largest tribe in Ivory Coast, Western Africa, who historically migrated from Ghana. They are traditionally farmers who live in the centre of Ivory Coast.

This piece consists of several handwoven narrow strips, whose warp yarn have been tied resist and dyed first (the process of ikat) before the process of weaving, and then sewn together to form one big piece.

There are coloured floats at both ends of the cloth which have been incorporated during the weaving process.
