The striking colour and distinctive geometric pattern is typical of their design, each with its own meaning.

▪︎ABOUT
The Berbers take their inspirations from their life and surroundings. They can also be from daily rituals, beliefs, customs, plants, animals, festivals and ceremonies.
It is normal that the front and back are woven in one piece but the back is usually in simpler design as in this piece.
This pillow is made of cotton and wool. It has been woven in panels of different bold colours and geometric pattern, here symbolising the taurus, a representation of masculinity. Each panel would have been separated by rows of sequins which have been removed.
**pictures are very close representation of the colours but not 100% due to different light conditions and different viewing screens. Please sent me a message if you would like more informations.
