This piece was produced in the late 20th century, using the tjanting (the copper tool used t nd lines were hand drawn individually with wax, dyed, boiled and then rewax. The repetition of the process depends on the complexities of the design.
It is in 'parang' motif. In ancient times the 'parang' motif was considered sacred by the Mataram Kings both in Yogyakarta and Surakarta. The Javanese kings saw it as the symbol of authority and power. This motif was once reserved only for the 'kraton' (the palace). The size depending on the stature, the higher you are in rank, the bigger the size.
